This was a good enough story, part mystery, part adventure, part political satire. But as a result, it did not do anything especially well. Most of the author's mysteries are much better plotted. Slade and his associates are more believable in other books. And if you are from Arkansas, you will probably be unnecessarily offended by the stereotypes, even as satire. And given that this is listed as a cozy mystery, you know that the good guys will succeed.Most of this author's other books are much better.However I did have fun reading this book.
