Not a bad score at all as if you round it off, it’s actually a perfect TEN already. From the looks of that rating, we can say the Audiobook is Good TO READ!

Should really be 2 1/2 stars. Perhaps I would have liked this more if I'd read the earlier books, but no way does it work as a standalone. First off, way way too many characters running around. Brothers and sisters and cousins and all their respective in-laws. With throwaway lines meant to allude to their previous adventures, and the current conundrum basically just a continuation of the last book. The entire book is spent travelling from one inn to another, finding the bad guys, punching them out and rescuing the girls. Even what should have been the pivotal point (Spoiler alert) when they apprehended the evil mastermind was completely lackluster when the woman (oops) shoots herself. I know that women were abducted for variety of nefarious purposes, and breaking up a gang dedicated to this is a worthwhile subject but too many convenient coincidences robbed the story of any tension at all. And the last few chapters about a *surprise* wedding were truly silly. The one part of the book I found really interesting was when the Hero was forced to consider that mistresses and courtesans were not necessarily happy with their lot in life, and that men of his class (and indeed he himself) had contributed to their downfall. I think more depth here could have made for a fascinating study in unintended evildoing and opportunity for true redemption. The hero does give his ex-mistress some money to start a new life, but what about all the women before her, and the acceptance of such as a social norm?I have liked some if ms Quinn's earlier books. I am becoming a bit tired of this current practice of loading up characters with family and friends so more books can be spun off them. At first it was charming to spot a reference to much-loved character in a subsequent book, but now it's becoming more like a reason not to explain the current characters backstory.
